Hey Republican presidential candidates!

New York State’s Republican Presidential primary is Tuesday, April 24. New York State and its elected officials have a long history of supporting reproductive rights and passing pro-choice legislation. Tell Mitt, Newt and Ron that their radical, anti-choice agendas won’t fly here in New York. Brought to you by NARAL Pro-Choice New York.

Hi Mitt, Newt & Ron!

Before you try to collect our votes, you should know that New Yorkers really don’t agree with you when it comes to a woman’s right to choose. We don’t agree that Roe v. Wade should be overturned. We think it would be wrong to let an employer interfere with a woman’s access to affordable birth control. We like Title X funding for family planning services. And we think a constitutional amendment declaring that life begins at conception is just plain … well, you know.

A whopping 85% of New York Republicans want abortion to remain legal. So we expect our elected officials to respect a woman’s right to make her own decisions about her reproductive health, including using birth control and choosing safe, legal abortion.

Here’s a fun fact for you: Abortion was legalized in NY because a Republican Assemblymember wrote the law and a Republican Governor signed it. Yeah, sure, that was back in 1970, but some things should stand the test of time. New Yorkers – regardless of party – being pro-choice, that’s one of them.

Love, NY
